Your information

Privacy policy

Effective September 19, 2026. This policy describes how Sal handles information in its event-saving application and on this public website. Sal is currently in private testing.

Information Sal handles

Sal stores account information such as your email address, optional name, and account identifiers. If you create a password account, Sal stores a password hash. Sal also stores the events you save, including titles, source links, dates, descriptions, and other details, along with timestamps.

Google sign-in

When you choose Google sign-in, Sal requests your basic profile and email information. It uses your Google account identifier, email address, and name to create or recognize your Sal account and sign you in. Sal does not receive your Google password. This sign-in flow does not request access to your Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive files.

Event extraction

When you ask Sal to extract an event from a public link, Sal retrieves the page and sends its content and a temporary screenshot to OpenAI to generate an event draft. The source URL, extraction results, supporting evidence, and processing status may be stored with your account. The screenshot is not stored by Sal. Avoid submitting links containing private information or access tokens.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to operate accounts, maintain sign-in sessions, save and retrieve events, process extraction requests, and support the service. Service providers process information needed for these functions: hosting providers operate the websites and application; Google provides sign-in; OpenAI processes event extraction; and Resend handles account emails when enabled. Encrypted application backups are stored in an operator-controlled Google Drive account. That backup process is separate from your Google sign-in permissions.

Cookies and technical information

Sal uses cookies for sign-in sessions and to protect the sign-in process. Hosting and service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, and operational logs to deliver and secure the service.

Storage and retention

Account information, saved events, and extraction records are stored in Sal’s database to provide the service. Backups rotate on a daily, weekly, and monthly retention schedule. Information removed from the active database may remain in earlier encrypted backups until those backups expire.

Your choices and deletion requests

For questions, account deletion, or requests concerning your information, email funkatech@googlegroups.com. We may need to verify that a request concerns your account before acting on it. You can also revoke Sal’s access through your Google Account connections settings; revoking Google access does not itself delete data already stored in Sal.

Changes to this policy

Updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Contact funkatech@googlegroups.com with questions about Sal’s data practices.
